I just updated my QGis install (using OSGeo4W64), and I thought I would try to add the QGis python bindings to my existing install - here is how to do it!
- Finding the latest climate change data

I recently had a need for updated climate change maps for a client. The client specifically requested that the maps should contain data from the latest analys by the IPCC. After some searching I found the NOAA ESRL/PSD Climate Change Portal. This website provides averages of all models for the variables that I was interested in: temperature, precipitation and acidity in a format that was easy to bring into ArcGIS.

One feature that I have missed in ArcGIS 10 and above is the index tab that was available as a dockable pane. Then I found this great add-in that has been a separate download for each version of ArcGIS - it wasn't available when I first started upgraded ArcGIS 10.2, but now it is here!

I do a lot research in my job, and sometimes I need to narrow down a search for a specific website. As a little exercise, I prepared this little javascript bookmarklet to perform a google search on the site that one is currently visiting.
