This section of the Nordpil website presents resources prepared by Nordpil and given away for free to the community. Please see the specified resource for the license details.

The resources category will slowly expand, and the goal is to provide a selection of useful utilities and data here.

CfcGntp - wrapper for ColdFusion to send Growl/GNTP messages: A little ColdFusion component (CFC) that wraps the libgrowl java library. By using this object, a CFML engine such as Adobe ColdFusion or Railo can easily send desktop notifications to a Growl/GNTP host for alerts, debugging and status updates.

Tectonic plates GIS data: This is a conversion of the dataset originally published in the paper An updated digital model of plate boundaries in 2003. The original data has been parsed, cleaned and verified using ArcGIS 10.2 and converted to shape files. The dataset presents tectonic plates and their boundaries. It is useful for geological applications, analysis and education, and should be easy to use in any modern GIS software application.

Wagner VII GIS data: The Wagner VII projection is an equal-area projection useful for thematic world maps. Hugo Ahlenius of Nordpil has prepared a basemap GIS database by reprojecting and editing the data from the Natural Earth 2.0 database and making it freely available for download.

Webhook - GNTP gateway: To enable alerts and notifications for web applications to be visible on the desktop, this little gateway listens for webhooks and forwards them as GNTP notifications for Growl clients. The script is prepared in Python, and also compiled as an executable.

Google site search, javascript bookmarklet: Simple little javascript bookmarklet that let's you easily perform a google search limited to the site you are currently visiting.

Geohack copy/paste: A recent project required research into the locations of communities and institutions, using Wikipedia (among other sources). This browser script makes it easy to copy and paste the coordinates from the GeoHack pages.

Better Mura admin (Greasemonkey script): A short and simple user script for the Firefox browser for streamlining the management of websites using the Mura CMS web publishing system. The script requires the Greasemonkey browser add-on.

World database of large urban areas, 1950-2050: Data and maps prepared from official UN statistics: a database of the world's largest cities, with locations and population history and projection from 1950-2050.
