To alleviate poverty in developing countries, improved stewardship of natural resources can provide a way to establish sustainable livelihoods and good management of the biosphere. The resources - forests, water, minerals, fish, wildlife and others - represents natural capital that can be used to create other forms of capital.

The objective of the illustration is to summarize and visualize the main messages in the publication.
